Christmas - The best of intentions

Christmas time again. Why is Christmas so stressful?
Jeremy and I had decided that we would make many of the gifts for our kids this year. While I think it was a good idea in theory, in practicality it...caused a few problems.
 Homemade Christmas pajamas.
Jeremy made this semi truck. It has a second tanker trailer that is amazing...somehow I didn't get a picture of it though.
He also made this train, which is just, you know...wow. It did, however, cause a lot of our Christmas stress. Jer started making it right after Thanksgiving but the time it took was far more than either of us anticipated. In the end we didn't get to do a lot of our usual Christmas activities because Jeremy was working on it every spare moment he had. And it almost ended in disaster. The day before Christmas Eve he put a finished on it that, for whatever reason, ruined it. Thankfully, Jer's family took the train to their house and rubbed it down with steel wool. It took 3-4 people 3 hours to get it back to what it was before. Yikes!

I think he wore this face the whole day.
Emma's dress, it looks a bit Eastery buuuut...who cares really. I've been saving this fabric forever and knew she would like it.
And Grant of course who really was most pleased with the boxes and wrapping paper.

Maybe we need to rethink this handmade thing. :)

A Tale of Teeth

Emma lost her two front teeth roughly 6 weeks ago. She gave a good sneeze and I heard a little plink, plink, plink. Yup, she sneezed her tooth right out onto the kitchen floor. When she came home from school that same afternoon, the other had fallen out at lunchtime.

Two front teeth in one day. Pretty awesome. Pretty lisp too.
