I love this boy.

My little man turned 1 this weekend. He has been such a blessing in our lives. Madilyn once said to me, "Garrett makes our whole family happy." And that's exactly what he does. He loves his family and shows it by giving hugs, taps, slaps (not so funny), and rolling over the top of us. As I try to write about him I feel silly. How can I possibly express the joy this special boy has brought to our home? Our family is better, happier, and more complete than it was a year ago. He makes us laugh when we want to cry and makes coming home a treat.

Plus we had the greatest 1 year old party ever. He loved all his toys, clapped when he opened his presents, and did a jig when he got a car rug. Plus he nearly knocked over his grandma crawling to the kitchen for cake.

We love you!

List - MST3K

Every family has a movie that they all laugh about but no one else really gets it. Today I dedicate my post to Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K) The Movie. I have never laughed as hard as I did the first time I watched it. For those of you who haven't seen it, a guy and two puppets watch B movies (usually sci-fi) and make fun of them. Its awesome. So my list is my favorite quotes from MST3K the Movie.

  1. "Could I love him more?"
  2. "Hey some guys legs are hanging out."
  3. "Eat at Joe's. Eat at Joe's. Eat at Joe's."
  4. Neeeeeroooooooom (that's the sound of car passing by)
  5. "Noooooo!"
  6. "Why he has a giant hamburger on the wall."
  7. "Quick let's escape under the cover of afternoon in the largest car in the county."
  8. wshkwshkwshk (that's the sound of whispering)
  9. "Should we be watching this?"
  10. "Who put the can in the middle of the room?"

Here's to you MST3K.

Someday was July 3rd - I Tri'd!

I checked another off of my 'Someday I'm Gonna' list (that's me before I did the thing). July 3rd at 8am I did a triathlon - 1/4 mile swim, 14 mile bike, 3.1 mile run. Now I had hoped to do it with my best friend from college, Karli, but she chickened out...ok no she didn't she's already done one, really she's 4 months pregnant so a no go for her.

I did it in 1 hour 45 minutes. I was planning on putting up some actions shots of me actually doing it but I looked like a 40-year-old smoker. Apparently doing swimming, biking, and running early on a Saturday morning does NOT make you look like a super model.

Just for the record, I hate biking. A lot.

How big is your slip-n-slide?

I love the 4th of July. We had a good one, plus my best friend from college and her family spent the weekend with us. AND, added bonus, Jeremy put a 100ft. slip-n-slide in our gently sloping yard. It was great.

Poor Emma, that's how she spent most of the 4th. Not a fan of loud noises.
Is that not the coolest slip-n-slide you've ever seen? We only had one person go off the end into the trees.
Love it!

Someday was May 27th

That is the view from my living room, its more amazing in person.

You may or may not have read my "Someday I'm Gonna" list here on my blog, but I have checked off one of my gonna's.

We have a house.

We don't own it we're only renting but I figure that counts anyway because its been such a long time coming.

We have an amazing view, huge yard, and lots of space. Its everything I imagined it would be plus more housework!
So here's pics of the girls room, the view from Garrett's room, our guest bedroom (mostly I put it up because look at all that empty space, isn't it wonderful!), the funky fireplace, and my favorite room of all the play room.
